Tax

Georgia: 183 days in any 12 months (tax)

Under 183 days in Georgia in any 12-month period

About This Rule

Georgia treats you as tax resident for the whole tax year if you actually stay there 183 or more days in any continuous 12-calendar-month period ending in that year, and any part of a day counts. Time abroad for treatment, leisure, a business trip or education counts as time in Georgia, while time in Georgia for treatment or leisure, or in transit, doesn't. Days that already made you resident for the previous tax year aren't counted again; the app doesn't apply that, so it can warn earlier than the law. This tracks the day count only.

Ready-made rules count your days against the limits the law names. They don't decide your visa or residency status, and many laws add conditions a day count can't see.
