Tax

Ireland: 183 days in the tax year

Under 183 days in Ireland between 1 January and 31 December

About This Rule

Counts your days in Ireland each tax year, 1 January to 31 December: being present for 183 days or more makes you resident for that year. Any part of a day in Ireland counts as a day. You can also be resident through the 280-day test over two years, which has its own preset. This tracks the day count only.

Ready-made rules count your days against the limits the law names. They don't decide your visa or residency status, and many laws add conditions a day count can't see.
