Monaco: 183 days for a tax residence certificate
At least 183 days a year in Monaco, counted by calendar year
About This Rule
If you aren't a Monaco national and need a residence certificate for tax formalities, your principal stay is in Monaco if you spend at least 183 days a year there, or fewer if you are in Monaco longer than in any other country. The ordinance doesn't say which year it means; the app counts the calendar year. Your home (foyer) counts only when your principal stay can't be defined, and the main centre of your activities is a separate ground. This tracks the day count only; the Public Security Department issues the certificate.
Also Requires
- A valid Monaco residence permit (carte de séjour)
- A home in Monaco, shown by a title deed, a lease or a hosting certificate
- Water, electricity and telephone bills for the past year

Ready-made rules count your days against the limits the law names. They don't decide your visa or residency status, and many laws add conditions a day count can't see.
