About This Rule
Counts your days in Spain each calendar year: staying more than 183 days in the year makes you resident. Sporadic absences abroad also count as days in Spain unless you prove tax residence in another country, so the legal count can be higher than the days the app sees. Having the main base of your business or economic interests in Spain is a separate test, and a spouse and dependent children living there create a presumption of residence.
