🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates: visa and tax day limits
Ready-made rules count your days against the limits the law names. They don't decide your visa or residency status, and many laws add conditions a day count can't see.

What the rules say
Visitor stays
The United Arab Emirates admits many nationalities on arrival for a set number of days, and issues visit visas otherwise. The permitted length depends on nationality.

Longer stays
Longer stays run through employment, investment, or long-term residence routes, each with its own conditions.

Tax residency
The UAE can treat you as tax resident if your main residence and centre of interests are there, if you are present for 183 days or more in any 12 consecutive months, or for 90 days or more when other conditions also apply, such as holding UAE residence and having a home or work there. Part-days count. A Stay Limit rule of at most 182 days over a rolling 366 days can track the 183-day test, and one of at most 89 days the 90-day test.
