Tax

Denmark: 6-month stay

One stay in Denmark of under 6 months

About This Rule

Counts how long your current stay in Denmark has lasted: without a home in Denmark, staying at least 6 months makes you fully tax liable from the start of the stay, and short stays abroad for holidays or similar still count as part of it. The law gives no day limit for those trips, so the app starts a new stay after any recorded day abroad, and your legal stay can be longer than the count. The limit is 180 days, so the card flags day 181, when even the shortest 6 months (such as 1 February to 31 July) is complete. Having a home in Denmark is a separate test.

Ready-made rules count your days against the limits the law names. They don't decide your visa or residency status, and many laws add conditions a day count can't see.
