Denmark: 42 days during a stay abroad (§33A)
Up to 42 days in Denmark in any 6 months of a stay abroad
About This Rule
For Danish tax relief on salary earned abroad (ligningsloven §33A), your stay abroad may be interrupted by at most 42 days in Denmark within any 6-month period. It only applies during such a stay abroad: the app counts your days in Denmark over the last 6 months, part days included, so in your first 6 months abroad it also counts days before you left, which the law leaves out, as it does the travel days at the start and end of the stay. Days in the Faroe Islands and Greenland count too, so add them to the rule's places if you go there. This tracks the day count only.
Also Requires
- A stay outside Denmark of at least 6 months
- Salary from work done during the stay abroad
- Days in Denmark only for necessary work linked to the job abroad, holidays or similar

Ready-made rules count your days against the limits the law names. They don't decide your visa or residency status, and many laws add conditions a day count can't see.
