Switzerland: 90 days without work
One stay in Switzerland of under 90 days without working
About This Rule
Counts how long your current stay in Switzerland has lasted: staying at least 90 days without working gives you a tax residence, and temporary interruptions don't break the stay. The law gives no day limit for those interruptions, so the app starts a new stay after any recorded day abroad, and your legal stay can be longer than the count. If your home is abroad and you are in Switzerland only to attend school or for care in a health facility, it doesn't apply; living there with the intention of staying for good is a separate test.
Also Requires
- No gainful work in Switzerland during the stay

Ready-made rules count your days against the limits the law names. They don't decide your visa or residency status, and many laws add conditions a day count can't see.
