Vietnam: 183 days in a calendar year
Under 183 days in Vietnam each calendar year
About This Rule
Counts your days in Vietnam each calendar year. You are a resident individual if you are present in Vietnam for 183 days or more in a calendar year, or over 12 consecutive months from your first day in Vietnam (see its own rule). A regular place to live in Vietnam, such as a registered permanent residence or a home rented under a fixed-term lease, also makes you resident regardless of days. This tracks the day count only.

Ready-made rules count your days against the limits the law names. They don't decide your visa or residency status, and many laws add conditions a day count can't see.
