About This Rule
The Visa Waiver Program lets eligible travellers with an approved ESTA stay in the U.S. for up to 90 days per admission. A side trip to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean islands doesn't give you a new 90 days: you can be readmitted only for the balance of your original admission, so the days you spend there still use it up. The app starts a new stay after any day you're recorded in another country, so after such a trip its count is too low; count from your original entry date instead. This tracks the day count only.
